Creativity Training & Team Working at Elements Hair & Lifestyle Salon, Oxted

elements hair salon in oxted team buildingThe team from elements Hair Beauty Lifestyle in Oxted further strengthened their bond with two days of fun and innovative training.

The event encouraged team members to step out of their comfort zones and build on the business’s brand, values, performance, team work and creative skills.

The group travelled to London where they split into two groups – Rockers & Rollers and Movers & Shakers – to undertake a series of challenges.

All team members had to plan and film a video which incorporated four challenges based on the elements of fire, earth, air and water:

  • Fire: To spark creativity the team members had to think outside the box.  The aim was to find or buy something for the team’s ‘blockhead challenge’ that was not a hair accessory.
  • Earth: Go into a store and ask ‘what is your mantra for customer service’.
  • Air: Compliment a stranger and get information from them.
  • Water: Support a team member in achieving their toughest challenge.

Another challenge was to gather mood board pictures and ideas based on the Pantone Spring Fashion colours Rose Quartz and Serendipity.

Much of the focus during day two was on hair colour with a three hour colour training session with international experts Wella.  Awards were also presented to team members for various achievements.

Salon Manager Jo Hardardt said: “It was a great team building event which everyone enjoyed.  I think we all learned something about ourselves and how to improve the customer experience and work even more effectively as a team.”
